AP240 Access Point
The Sensys Networks Access Point (AP) is an intelligent LINUX device used to maintain two-way communications with in-ground wireless sensors, and battery-powered repeaters. Using either wired and/or wireless connections, APs relay data to roadside controllers, remote servers, traffic management systems, or other vehicle detection applications. Watch the Sensys applications video here.

The AP240 comes in several configuration to fit every application, please contact Precision Traffic and Safety for the right one. Features include:

  • Sensor data relay and processing
  • Synchronized timebase for all supported sensors
  • Radio signal quality measurement
  • No calibration or adjustments needed

RP240 Repeater
The Sensys Networks Repeater extends the range of the Access Point (AP) providing a two-way relay between out-of-range sensors and the AP. Up to two repeaters (operating in tandem) can be installed between a sensor and an AP. Easily deployed, the battery-powered Repeater requires no wiring or cabling.

Features include:

  • Radio communications relay, extends range of AP
  • Fully wireless – no cabling or wiring
  • Radio signal quality measurement
  • Virtually maintenance free, no calibration or adjustments needed

CC and EX Contact Closure Cards
With up to four optically isolated contact closure relays, channel status is configurable when using a TS2 controller. If more channels are required, up to 63 EX cards can be daisy-chained to the CC card front panel via RJ45 connector, or by rewiring the backplane. Watch the Sensys applications video here.

The Master (CC) and Expansion (EX) cards of the VDS240 Wireless Vehicle Detection System can be used in the following traffic controllers:

  • NEMA TS1, NEMA TS2
  • Type 2070 ATC
  • Type 170

APCC Access Point and Contact Closure
Sensys Networks introduces the Access Point Controller Card (APCC)—the newest hardware addition to its VDS240 wireless vehicle detection universal platform. The APCC combines the “brains” of the Access Point with contact closure card functionality—in the cabinet—for maximum detection flexibility and minimal power usage (less than 1W), ideal for solar-powered applications.

Able to integrate with up to two digital radios (SPP), the APCC doubles sensor coverage, reduces hardware usage, and enhances communications, backhaul, and data storage capabilities—with a minimal cabinet footprint. The APCC system provides enhanced flexibility for all detection applications and is well suited for large and complex intersections. Watch the Sensys applications video here.

SPP Digital Radio
The VDS240 APCC System utilizes a digital radio in conjunction with access point “brains,” now housed in the cabinet. The system’s minimum configuration consists of one APCC and one SPP radio, but also supports multiple SPP radios. The addition of an isolator provides electrical isolation and surge protection (up to 1500V), and AC power cross protection.
